Motörhead is a British rock and roll band formed in 1975 by bassist, singer and songwriter Lemmy. Before they chose the name "Motörhead," the band originally was going to be called "Bastard". However; after being advised by Lemmy's manager that it was unlikely that they were going to get on Top of the Pops with a name like "Bastard," Lemmy decided to call the band "Motörhead."
